ANTIHYPERTENSIVE, EFFECTIVE IN THE MANAGEMENT OF HEART FAILURE.

Capotal is (Captopril), an antihypertensive agent, and effective in management of heart failure. Capotal is a special competitive inhibitor of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE inhibitor) which is responsible for the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II. The beneficial effect of Capotal in hypertension and heart failure are due to the suppression of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. Capotal is absorbed rapidly after oral administration, peak blood levels are attained within one hour. Food reduces its absorption by 30 - 40 %.

Capotal is indicated for:
- The treatment of hypertension. It may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agent. Especially thiazide type diuretics.
- The treatment of patients with heart failure. Capotal can be administered with digitalis.
